Development[]
The game started out right after the release of the first game as Mario City 7, as it was always meant to be the sequel to Mario City, but to also reference Mario Kart 7. At least on November 27, 2011 it was still called Mario City 7 but Night Club Uii had already been used in a prototype dated three days earlier.
Eventually they thought it was a bad name, so they changed it.
During this time, 356 ~~ was established. They decided to prevent ATIV+ Games from publishing the game, although only in North America.
