Nichel (Yiddish: ניקאַל nikal) is a town and the seat of Nichelland.

"nichel" is the Italian and Romanian word for "nickel", something its founder was not aware of. There is a building built of nickel in the town to reflect this.

Thevmedia has some publicly accessible offices in the town, and it is known that three of their transmitters are located there: Nichel NNZ83-51, Nichel-CN37 and NSK-482.
